Active Ownership
Active ownership is the centerpiece of our SRI program. As owners of a corporation, shareholders have the right, and the responsibility, to participate in and influence a firm's strategic management. At CBIS Global, we take those rights and responsibilities seriously. We enter into dialogues with corporate management and file shareholder resolutions on issues that are important to our participants, and carefully vote our proxies at companies' annual meetings.
We understand that, when purchasing securities on behalf of our participants, we are acting as fiduciaries. This obligates us to work with the companies we invest in, to help them become more responsible and sustainable enterprises. In our view, high standards of corporate citizenship also better positions companies for long-term success, improving their potential as long-term investments.
Through active ownership, we offer our participants a way to ensure that their wealth is managed in a way that supports the principles we all share, while providing the income necessary to support their missions.
